We understand the value in personally working with you on your matters. Too often the traditional law firm model mandates a high-cost, hierarchical business model where the attorney in charge of a client's matters does not do much of the actual work. We understand how frustrating this can be and, consequently, have created a firm model where the attorney managing your file will be the attorney doing the primary work.

Bills Without Surprises

We have worked very hard to create a law firm model focused on maintaining low overhead and costs under a substantially paperless office so that we can pass those savings on to our clients. As such, we are able to provide predictable billing and are proud to say that we are able to engage in many of the initial discussions and background work at no cost to our clients.

No Fear Phone Calls

A client should be able to call their attorney without fearing the bill. When a client is comfortable calling their attorney, it usually leads to a better work product, fewer unwanted surprises and a satisfied client. The attorneys at S|U|M IP do not operate under the antiquated incentive of billable hour requirements. As a result, many of the conversations and meetings conducted with our clients are provided at no cost.

Lower Bills Through Reduced Overhead

We work hard to operate with a minimum of overhead and we pass on those savings to our clients. For example, we utilize cutting-edge software and computer hardware solutions that allow us to eliminate much of the equipment investment and headcount that is characteristic of the traditional law firm business model. The result is a significantly lower operational cost compared to traditional law firms. Our lower operating costs allow us to pass significant savings on to our clients while still providing outstanding service and quality. For certain projects, our clients have seen their bills decrease over 40% compared to similar work done by other law firms following the traditional law firm model.
